[] I believe there was a discussion here a few weeks ago about a quality control problem with recent Seagate drives, involving an excess of lubrication locking the drive head in place and not allowing the drive to spin up. I believe this is happening to my 16 month old ST138R, because twice in the last month it refused to spin up when the power was turned on, and I had to "unjam" the drive by hitting the drive firmly on its side (yes I was cringing as I did this). My question is, what company has the facilities to do this, do they do business through the mail, and how much will this cost? I don't want to buy a new drive, because I hope to upgrade from an A500 to an A2000 after they start shipping A2000s with the 1.4 ECS, which means that I would have to replace my controller, since my current drive is non-SCSI and most A2000 controllers are SCSI.
