Did Comdex have _any_ redeeming Amigoid features? I can make another Amiga Unix sighting report. There was an A2620 with Sys V 3.2 running at the Pacific Rim Computers & Communication Show held here in Vancouver last week. Some guy from Toronto [Alex Cargill, bubbles out of the memory banks] was demoing it. I know that Sys V Rel. 4 is currently planned, but... <-Harvey "Abstract words are ancient coins whose concrete images in the give and take of talk have worn away with use." -Julian Jaynes Harvey Taylor Meta Media Productions uunet!van-bc!rsoft!mindlink!Harvey_Taylor a186@mindlink.UUCP

I was under the impression that Commodore was going to premeire the A3000 at this week's Comdex. Well, I guess not. They showed their A2630 68030 card. My friends who went (had to stay here for midterms:-( ) said, Commdore did a poor showing compared to Atari, who had a flashy booth demoing their laptop Atari, new 68030 Atari, with a new chipset. They also showed some genlocking devices. My friend said they showed sucky graphics---just Nagel work which has not become the staple demo at those IBM computer swap meets. Oh wells, but CBM better get their image straight at these shows. Where's my laptop Amiga? -Viet vho@ucsd.edu

A working machine on my desktop is much better than vaporware promises
from a company which has a demonstrated track record for shafting its
customers. Commodore has been excellent in shipping the products it
announces, even if they arrive later than all of us would like.

A laptop Amiga would be a dream come true for me. I would find some
sort of laptop box very useful, but I would rather not sink the money
into an MS-DOS box when I could do much, much more with a laptop
Amiga.
