Hey, i've just bought Sonix V2.0 for the Amiga and after a weekend of playing with it i'm still having trouble loading those IFF samples in. I've worked out that you have to put the .instr extension on, and that it will take a one-shot or three-octave sound, but when it loads in it only play on the top octave of my (6 1/4 ocatave) keyboard and even then it doesnt play at the correct rate, it plays to slow. I've tried samples at 8960 and at many other rates including lower rates (for what its worth!) but i'm still getting the same problem. Any ideas? One other problem, will Sonix allow you to input notes from a MIDI keyboard? I was sure it did, but I cant seem to do it. Any responses greatly appreciated. Steve Paine.

Thanks for the quick reply Steve. I will keep your mail and reply if I get an answer. I don't know what AEGIS is doing with their AMIGA software lately. It seems they have forgotten about Sonix completely. Question to net-readers: Have you heard anything about Aegis, and Sonix in particular? Right now the only suggestion I have is trying other software like Audio master to make your sound files. Maybe that would work. There must be somebody out there who knows how to make Sonix instruments.

I heard at AmiExpo in Santa Clara that AEGIS went under, along with EPYX. UUCP: {ames!elroy, <routing site>}!gryphon!pnet02!jandreas INET: jandreas@pnet02.gryphon.com
