Hey all... I have a XT Bridgeboard and I want to put an extra 128k in. I understand that I can add a XT memory card, but my question is how do you set the card to act in the correct memory area. I have heard horror stories about adding boards to the IBM side and I do not want to nuke my amiga... any help would be appreciated. -mark=

There is only a certain number of boards that will plug in the A2000 that will work properly. I've accomplished what you wanted with an AST multi-function board that I bought at Egghead. The board cost around $120 + $20 for the extra 128K chips. Once you get the board, you have to change some of the dip swithes on the AST board to set the starting address of RAM (its either C0000 or E0000), tell it you have 128K on the board, and to use COM2 as your serial port (for some reason I couldn't get it to work with COM1). It should have a barely intelligible set up sheet with it for setting the jumpers but the default will probably be correct. You're not going to hurt any thing. See if you can find a used ancient Quadboard around. That way you get a serial port. The coolest thing to do is to get a paged expanded memory (EMS) board, rip out all the socketed chips on the Bridgeboard down to 256K then backfill with the EMS board back up to 640K. Do you really have a use for 640K, though? Some memory intensive CGA graphics program? :-) Good Luck! -- Jimmy Liberato ...!amdahl!drivax!liberato

I used a Zukerboard (sp?) 1/2 slot memory card in my XT BridgeBoard. Got it mail order for about $49 with 0K - it also worked in my SideCar! No tricks, just add 128K and pop it in. The BridgeBoard automagicly adds it to the system.
