[comp.sys.amiga] AAmiga 1000 to AT Bus changer

brianm@sco.COM (Brian Moffet) (11/29/89)

I am interested in finding out if such a thing exists.

I have an Amiga 1000, and would like to use AT cards with it.
An example would be a VGA card or other video devices.

I was thinking that if I could get a box that allowed the use of
AT cards, I could buy a good resolution video card, control it with
software I write on my amiga, and do pretty pictures. The problem
would be, how to get to the alternate IO space that boards designed
for the AT bus would expect. I have no problems programming these
cards by hand, so an actaul driver would not be completely necessary.
I would like an AT bus (or EISA perhaps) because the 16 bit bus
capability for Ultra-Hi-Res video cards.

This would allow the improvability (is that a word?) that I am looking
for, without the cost of buying another complete machine. I like
my 1000, it just doesn't have far to go for add ons.

Another question

is the 68030 pin compatable with the 68020?

thanks
