Hello Amiga users, I am looking into buying a new computer system, my present Apple //GS is not going to meet my future needs and I have honest worries about what apple may next do with the // series. I am an experienced computer user and have professional experience with video systems, I need a machine to do intensive video applications, desktop publishing, company file handling and database systems, and to have a little fun with. I have looked at the Mac //cx and know its capabilities. I have made attempts to see what the amiga can do but have been disappointed, the 2 dealers that i have seen have been idiots, they have no technical knowledge of their equiptment, or of other product lines that they claim the amiga is better than or copy the amiga (i.e. the WIMP interface). Both have shown me Genlock units but the showed me an image on the amiga RGB monitor, I want to see the composite output. I have no problem with spending the money for a good system but i want some idea of what the machine can do, not just somebody tossing a HAM image on the screen and saying 'no one can touch this' WRONG, Mac //cx with a 24bit RasterOp board exceeds HAM(no flames please just stating a fact). Is anyone bring out graphic expansion boards for the Amiga? I also have a problem with the way the amiga presents itself, the onscreen menus and icons give the appearance of a toy not a serious computer. Please help me make an educated decision, tell me how easy it is to make animations and edit them, tell me of its on screen font clarity and its powerful object animation system, and of the quality of its output to a laser printer.
