HELP!!! ok, this is what I have: Amiga 2000 - 2 drives, 1 Seagate internal 5 1/4 inch half height ST277N 1 CLtd controller, and my new ST296N external drive - designed for a mac, but reformatted for my amiga So i hook it up, reformatt it and go through that HELL! the problem: I have so much computer hardware that I had to tilt the external drive on it's side, meaning that the case the hard drive was supplied in was tilted to make free space on my desk. unlike my horizontal ST277N the ST296 makes a noise about every 15 minutes it's moving the heads.. a gurgling noise. I just got my ST296 and want to make sure nothing's totally screwed on my purachase. one guy said it's just realligning itself, no big deal. another guy said it's grinding the bearings.. WHAT IS IT? PLEASE REPLY THROUGH MAIL!.. I don't have toom uch time to read through all of the messages in this group..
