[comp.sys.amiga] AMax for sale

dennya@pnet02.cts.com (Denny Atkin) (06/16/89)

Well, as much fun as I'm having with the darn thing, I've got to sell my
new A-Max system to help pay some car expenses (Chevette was about to die,
so I had to buy a new car)....

For Sale:

A-Max Macintosh Emulator
      128K Official Apple ROMs
Cutting Edge 800K Macintosh drive (with auto-eject and eject button)
      Latest A-Max software update
  and software in original package:
        Ready-Set-Go desktop publishing
        Dac Easy Light home accounting
Generic CADD Level 1 and 2 parts disks
        PT-109
        Orbiter

$425 + $10 shipping FIRM.

This thing is neat... Runs almost ALL Mac productivity software (everything
I've tried, including Excel, Word 4.0, MacWrite/Paint, SuperPaint,
PageMaker 2.0, etc.), and some games--just about everything except copy
protected stuff and MIDI software. It also reads Mac disks and lets you
moata files between Mac and Amiga format. I'd like to keep it, but
it's either sell this or sell some native Amiga equipment.

If you're interested, send EMAIL to:

Hi. Sorry to waste net bandwidth with this, but since I had over 10
responses...

Sorry, my A-Max system is sold. A friend on PeopleLink beat you guys to it.
I've gotta learn to charge more for this stuff when I need quick bucks!

To asnwer a couple of questions I got, I got the ROMs from Shreve Systems
(ads in Computer Shopper). However, if you are interested in one, Safe Harbor
(fantastic mail order place that advertisises in AmigaWorld antd others) has a
package with drive, Max, and ROMs for $475.

Also, I do have a set of the 64K ROMs still available for $35+2.50 shipping.

Just a quick note -- Safe Harbor has a good deal as well on a Seagate
80mb SCSI + Microbotics Hardframe combo... Somewhere a little less than $800.

form -- just passing along a price. :)

Subject: Amax for sale

Barely used (about 2-4 times) A-Max Macintosh emulator. Comes with original
box, manual, disks, and has 128K Mac ROM chips in it as well. Need to get rid
of some other debts, so this thing gets jetisoned.

Asking $300.

Email, or call (503) 746-5934 (ask for Chris).

I received several interested responses to a post about this three
weeks ago, but no firm bites. So I will try one more time, with more
information this time:

FOR SALE:

	A-Max cartridge, software, manuals,
	and 128K Mac ROMS: $250

	M.A.S.T. Mac-compatible 800K drive,
	for use with either A-Max
	or a regular Mac: $125

All of the above, plus legal set of
	Mac system 6.0.3 disks: $360

I pay shipping on the North American continent.

I am somewhat flexible on the price, especially if you want to buy the
complete set, so I'm open to reasonable offers.

All of the stuff above is original equipment/software -- I do not
believe in piracy. The ownership registration of the A-Max cartridge
and software is transferable to the new owner (I've verified this with
ReadySoft), so the new owner will be fully eligible for future upgrades.
The Mac system disks listed above were purchased through an authorized dealer,
and do not include Hypercard. Everything above is about three months old.

Reason for selling: I bought the stuff for my girlfriend to use for her
law school writing when her Mac died in the first week of classes.
She used it for a month and then bought her own SE. I've decided that I would
rather have a hard drive for my Amiga than a second Mac in the house,
so I'm selling.

By the way, to answer a common question: you do not need the drive to use
the cartridge, but you do need the cartridge to use the drive (unless
you plan to use the drive on a real Mac, or with Mac2Dos or something).

I can be reached through the e-mail address or phone numbers listed below.

Cheers,
	John
