Star has a new printer, and I think I have the number right. It is to replace the NX-1000, I hear. It is a nine pin printer and claims to print plain black text at 300 cps draft, 63 cps NLQ. There is also a color upgrade kit for it. I've seen the printer with the color kit for $380 in Computer Shopper. So, has anyone seen this printer, or run it on the Amiga? I assume it will use the EsponX drivers, does anyone know? I know the color isn't really great. I need b&w speed more than I need color, and I'm not sure I really want two printers in my life. 8-) As a comment... Since the beginning, the "What printer for my Amiga?" question has been a sort of confused issue, at least for me. Perhaps this is just because I have been unable to bring myself to spend $700 or more for a printer. I was spoiled by paying only $265 for a printer in 1980, and now that I've sold it I want to get a much more powerful one for less money, since after all that's what happened when I sold my Osborne and bought an Amiga. (Of course, I didn't get WordStar with the Amiga...) But we seem to see more what-printer? questions then we do other what-X? questions here. I think it is because the printer issues haven't evolved as quickly as they could have, either at Commodore (though I applaud the printer driver concept and its execution), the dealers, or in the marketplace. For example, there was a printer review eons ago in Amiga World, but I don't recall seeing frequent reviews of suitable printers. Sorry, I'll quit rambling. No flames please. lee
