Hi, I was wondering if the is a way to tranfer AMIGA hir-res pictures onto an IBM, and display them on the IBM... The Graphics I'm using are from DPainIII, and PhontonPaintII, I think the formats are HAM, and IFF... (I think !!!). Are there any PD, or comercial programs for that purpose? I found the best way to convert pictures is to take your 32 color Amiga IFF pictures, load them into DigiView, Load an IBM Palette, menu into palette, set the number of colors to 16, freeze the palette, then display (and play around with the color control registers...i.e. brightness,contrast...). Save the finished picture as a sixteen color, then D2D the files over. IBM recognizes IFF. As far as HAM pictures go, there is a program out there called HAM2IFF which will convert your pictures into IFF, which is IBM readable. I don't know the ftp site where it is located & I don't think it's fish. So any help to this response would help. -Steve

Just transfer the files over and run Dpaint II on the IBM. You can load the IFF images right in. If you need to convert, use a GIF conversion routine on the Amiga to store the file in GIF format and then you can easily use another GIF decoder on the IBM and save it into whatever format you desire such as PCX, PIC etc. A couple of programs of real value for the IBM are Vpic and Picem. They both load in a variety of image types and save them out to another variety of Image types. They even allow you to play with the R,G,B values as well as contrast and brightness before saving the files back out. If you need any of these items, you can call my system and pick them up. Phone number is in my signature. -- Bob _________________________ Pro-Graphics 201/469-0049 __________________________ InterNet: bobl@pro-graphics.cts.com | ProLine: bobl@pro-graphics UUCP: ..crash!pro-graphics!bobl | CServe: 70347,2344 ARPA/DDN: ..crash!pro-graphics!bobl@nosc.mil | Amer.
