[comp.sys.amiga] Project Scariness...

CRONEJP@UREGINA1.BITNET (Jonathan Crone) (12/12/89)

I've been thinking of messing around with the Motorola DSP (the 56000)
Digital signal processor chip as a class project...

My original idea was just to get one of motorola's evaluation boards, and
build some front end and back end stuff for it, so the eval board
just runs the DSP S/W that I write.... then I got to thinking....

Any applications for a DSP in an Amiga context???

Suggestions would be welcome....

Also, there was a vendor advertizing a Zorro II protoboard complete
with bus arbitration logic on it (as far as I recall...)

Could someone give me a pointer to that outfit (continental
North American suppliers only please)

(A DSP on a Zorro II card??? why not.... use it for what??? who knows??
I'm trying to come up with ideas...)

(Of course I'll be a lot more solidified on my ideas after I get a
chance to spend more than 5 minutes with the 56000 Data Book...)

anyways.... address in Sig... or post to .tech...

(is this a .TECH topic??? I posted to .Amiga thinking thats
where this belongs. redirects if necessary...)

     thanks all....

PS: (Dave H... you're the font of all wisdom H/W wise... am i nuts to
think of a DSP application in an Amiga??? (I have about a year and
a half to complete this... So I need something A> interesting,
      and B> acheivable...)
(Valentin... you just went through the graduating project stuff
around a year ago.... at U Ottawa if mmeory serves... Pointers
would be mucho appreicated... (areas that tripped you up etc. etc.)
