[comp.sys.amiga] Help?

gavron@mpx1.lanl.gov (Ehud Gavron) (12/12/89)

Hi all. I am considering buying a new Amiga. I had
a 500 two years ago and had to sell it. Now I can
	afford an Amiga again :-)

	1) What's the scoop on the 3000? What is it, when
is it coming out, is it worth waiting for?

	2) Same questions, only about the ECS.

	3) Is there yet a terminal emulator that does VT200/300
level graphics (like Handshake, only for higher level
terminals). I do mean a *complete* emulation (like
Hanshake) not like Diga, or other cheezy half-vt100s.

	4) Is there a News package/program for it?

	5) Is there a Unix for it? While we're on the subject,
what is Amix, and who makes it/when/where/howmuch?

	6) What are the "best" brands of 3rd party memory, and
	   hard disks/controllers?

If people want to reply by email, I will SUMMARIZe and
post to the net (i.e. I won't post an append file of
	all mail messages ;-)

	Thanks!

	Ehud

Amix is Unix ported to the Amiga. Plans are to have System V Release
4.0 out early 1990. Amix has not been released yet and there has been
no price set for it.
