I just wanted to relate my experiences with a SyQuest SQ555 removable platter drive. So far, it is excellent. I have 40 meg online at a time, with infinite offline storage. Diskchange works fine to tell the A2000 about a platter switch. It autoboots fine with my HardFrame. It was very easy to install in the drive bay and looks nice as well. Note - if you are thinking about a SyQuest, order from Hamilton/Avnet, SyQuest's distributor. They charge $550 for the drive and $80/platter. So you can get a SyQuest and hardframe cheaper than the GVP package. Also (according to their ads) GVP charges $149 for platters. I haven't diskperf'ed it yet, so I can't tell you anything there. A friend who has a Kronos controller for his A500 gets 600+K/sec using their devspeed program. The SyQuest docs claim it can go at 1.25meg/sec. If you set things up right (have mountlist info on both platters the same) you can use diskcopy to do backups. No more "N" floppies. Although if you only have a single syquest drive, you'll have to swap (I have 5 meg RAM and had to swap 11 times). In all, I like it a lot.
