[comp.sys.amiga] A mountlist buffers question.

I can't remember having seen an answer to this in the 1.3 Enhancer book
so I thought I'd ask here. Is there a practical upper limit on the
number of disk buffers specified in the mountlist? Is there a point of
diminishing returns?

I currently don't have the memory to squander on large numbers of
buffers, but I'm curious what other hard disk users are using. Small
numbers like 15 are not satisfying in terms of performance. I notice
that I often have to wait while an application re-reads a directory from
the disk instead of the buffers. Does a large # of buffers cure this
problem as it should?
