If an Even better: Provide a way to extend preferences. The current preferences would be split up into four (serial, printer, pointer, main prefs) seperate programs. Running "Prefs" would get you the main prefs screen. From there you would be able to get to any of the other prefs programs, and vise-versa. The would have to be some mechanism to tell the prefs system about other prefs control programs. This would allow people other than CBM to supply prefs style programs to customize their software, and it would fit in nicely with current way prefs works. Kindof like Suns defaults edit, except that you would need to supply a program to edit the prefs, rather than a convert-to-defaultsedit-style-and-back again programs. Is there any hope that CBM will supply documentation in an online type format?? It would be VERY nice ya know. REAL NAME: Joe Porkka jap@frith.cl.msu.edu

Such a situation would involve software that would only work as intended if EVERY screen in the system were locked to their full size. Sigh... okay, I'm objecting mostly because I think the dragging is <shudder> "neat". Without screen dragging, one might as well (well, almost as well) have a Mac running switcher or something. Ugh. 8-C It just seems like the only way something like that would work in a consistent manner would be to not have the screen drag feature at all.. Picture a Preferences option to disable multitasking, hey? 1.4 Question : Have read mutterings that the ALL NEW IMPROVED preferences would allow programs to install modules into preferences, similar to cdevs on the Mac... true? DISCLAIMER: Though I have shown some small intimate knowledge of the Mac, I am an Amigan, faithful and true. Although I really do wish the Amiga's software was a lot better these days...
