This might be of some interest to several of you out there. I started reading comp.sys.atari.st to find out what was going on with Dungeon Master II: Chaos Strikes Back. It sounds like it is fantastic. Diane Barlow Close (see below) posted an article stating that she is directly involved with testing DM II for bugs and so I asked her if she could find out the status of DM II for the AMIGA. The following is the response and is VERY ENCOURAGING. > ***I wrote to her**** S.S. > the Atari (you lucky people, you ;^)), I was wondering if you could > find out from FTL if and when they will be porting DM II CSB to > the Amiga. There are a large number of Amiga users who would be > interested in knowing this, so either I can post your response to > comp.sys.amiga or you can post the response there as well as to me via > email. Go ahead an post my response. Chaos for the Amiga is *the* #1 priority with FTL these days -- even higher than *finishing* the almost-finished Dungeon Master port for the IBM PC (and that's really saying something, all PC flames aside). While my ``sources'' can't name a definite release date, inside information says Chaos *should* be out for the Amiga by June *if* there are no serious porting problems (and there really shouldn't be any considering the similarity between the ST and Amiga machines (no flames please--this is strictly from an outside- developer's perspective). Actually, you might be interested to know how FTL develops their games. They develop a game like Chaos on (right now) a Mac IIci and then port it to the ST, the Amiga, the lower-level Macs, the IBM PC's; that is, they develop the game for the highest-level of machine (best graphics, sound, etc.) and then they port it to the ``lower level'' machines sequentially. And, before you all flame me, that is *not* to say that the Amiga is a ``lower level'' machine than the ST. Actually, FTL considers both machines to be equal (but different). FTL ports to the ST first because they have had such great success with their games on the ST and (ironically) less piracy on the ST than on other machines. I hope this information helps. -- Diane Barlow Close {nosc, ucsd}!crash!canada canada@crash.cts.com Free Canada -- Trade Mulroney ********************************************************************** Scott Sutherland sutherla@qtp.ufl.edu If I hear any more on this, I'll post it.

They might be interested in the price/bang compared to their Mac IIci, considering the sound and graphics and useable cpu speed and i/o capabilities of both machines. -Todd C.
