Hello Users: I heard that Electronic Arts are porting Starflight to commodore 64 (I own Commodore 128 at home). Why not port to Amiga version because it is the great game machine?!!! I heard that Starflight 2 come soon. When will Starflight 2 come? Also I heard that Might and Magic 2 will come in Amiga version hopefully! I hope that many companies should develop games for Amiga instead of PC compatible. It is too hard to program on PC compatible and easy to write programs on Amiga. Because Amiga is the GREATEST Game Machine!!! The game machine is a computer. I bought the book called 68030 Reference book. It is great book include 68881/68882 and 68851 instruction sets!!! It is the best reference book for Lattice C compiler w/Lattice Assembler. I recommend that! You will see the white books with orange/red letters. In 5.04 version, there are documents about Lpatch command (IFF form support now!) that allow me to develop yet another program allow to patches Lattices files instead of lpatch command!!! I love Lattice C 5.04 compiler! Also I am registered user since Dec '88. I ordered new Lattice 5.0 compiler while Lattice released it. -- Tim Stark Timothy Stark Bitnet: 11tstark@gallua.bitnet People/Link: T.STARK Gallaudet University Internet: 11tstark@gallux.gallaudet.edu GEnie: T.STARK1 P.O. I do believe that EA has announced Starflight for the Amiga. I've even seen it in some of the mail order houses price lists (with the notorious "CALL" in the price column). I really liked Starflight on the (forgive me) IBM. I would also really like EA to come out with Sentinal Worlds I for the Amiga. This is a really sharp game! -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= /// _______________ / / / /// /// / (___ _ /_ /_ _ __ /_/ /// \\\/// / . _____)__(__/ /__/_/_/ /__/_/_/__(/__/ (__/ \ \\\/// \XX/ Structural Dynamics Research Corporation \XX/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

When Starflight came out the designers lauded the IBM, saying "Finally, a computer powerful enough to handle somthing like this, we'll *never* port it to any other existing home computer because they can't handle it." You dont' actually believe that they would or could port it to a dead platform like the 64? It can't handle it. The Amiga however...sure it can handle it. I heard a "rumor" that Starflight was being ported to the Amiga....that was about a year and a half ago. We'll see. >Timothy Stark Bitnet: 11tstark@gallua.bitnet People/Link: T.STARK >Gallaudet University Internet: 11tstark@gallux.gallaudet.edu GEnie: T.STARK1 -- My other .sig is a Porsche. Boongawa.

Electronic Arts Distributing has announced Starfilght I for the amiga, and they say it should be shipping this month. I talked to one of the guys at EAD, and he said it was more than just a direct port from the IBm version. He claims that the programmers really took advantage of the specialties of the Amiga (Graphics, sound etc...). Hopefully he was talking as a real person and not as a salesman (grin). Regarding the 64 bit- I regret to say that I did see an ad in the recent Computer Gaming World announcing Starflight for the 64. I'd like to know how myself!

This, then, would lead one to believe that there is indeed a version out for the 64. Alec Kersco has been saying "it's [C64 Starflight] ready to go into QA any day now", for a few months.

Well, we've seen. Could have seen it two YEARS ago, though, if those dweebs at EA hadn't said to me "We can't justify a port of Starflight to the Amiga - it wouldn't be cost effective" when I offered to do just that. Grump. Sorry about the invective - but I just HAD to get this off my chest. I could have used the royalties, too :-) -- Mike Farren farren@well.sf.ca.usa
