I am tired of programs that are in reality betaware being passed off as a finished Product. UltraCard gurus all the time, has a miserable instruction manual and is slower than Dan Quayle. The developers disk they promised to ship in July still isn't here and I am thoroughly pissed off at Jay Minor for letting his name be associated with this junkware. My advice, save your US$ 50 and wait for CanDo. -- Robert Moldenhauer One People U.S. Snail: 30 Lathrop St., One Planet Madison, Wis 53705 USA Please! I have taken a zero tolerance stand with this kind of trash. I've tried using UltraCard on 4 different Amiga's, all with the same results. What I have started doing is to let the developer's know that I want nothing more from them, not an update, refund, NOTHING! And that I'll not purchase any further products from the company. Besides being a royal pain for us long time Amiga users, software this flakey really puts off first-time buyers and strengthens the myth that the Amiga is not a "stable" machine. I've been in the computing business for more than 15 years and have learned not to expect perfect - bug free software, but I do expect it to be somewhat usable. In a time when the honest supportive developers ( and the Amiga itself) are struggling, we need fewer stories like yours and mine. I have taken a zero tolerance stand with this kind of trash. I spent a couple of wasted evenings trying in vain to generate a simple stack, consisting of a button that flips from one card to another. GURU city! This is part of the reason why the thousands of stacks promised in what little documentation is available have never appeared: no one can keep the program from crashing for long enough to save the file! I find the developer's pleas on other networks(CI$,etc) that he is just a small developer unconvincing. Part of developing a program is doing it right-debugging it first, hiring an artist to provide some decent artwork, hiring someone to write a manual. Ironically, my first exposure to ultracard was at the amiga fair in San Francisco last February. The developer was demonstrating it for passers by, and even he couldn't keep it from crashing! -- Andy Alexis UUCP:ames!pacbell!sactoh0!aaalexis ======================================================= "Toto kansasoseum non est cognito" -- Farley =======================================================

All I tried to do was load a backgroung iff file!! It's a good thing I've got a robust hard disk, or I could have lost a lot of data. UltraCARD is absolute shit. I've sent it back. Regards Alan

Geese. I went and ordered this thing, and before I even get it everyone whose touched it is bummed. Anyone have a phone number we can call to inform the writers of ultracard that they've goofed up, and need to re-release immediately? I want this kind of funtionality, so I won't return my copy if the writer is working hard to correct the problems. It's probably a pretty complex program... Let's give them some informative feedback first and give them a chance. Then....if no results....whammo: my money back please.
