The System III `make' has some nice hooks to allow it to work in a smart way with SCCS source files. However, it means that you cannot use the trick of storing your sccs files in a sub-directory called SCCS and use some form of human sccs control program. Has anyone done any work to make the ~ operator for make work with the prefix SCCS/s. rather than s. ??? Or what else to people do to use make and SCCS together? NB. I already know about .DEFAULT and other schemes for making the old make and sccs work together. Please reply to lime!ukc!pc or mcvax!ukc!pc Peter Collinson, University of Kent, UK
