limonce@pilot.njin.net (Tom Limoncelli) (12/31/89)
I just FTP'd the Wavesailing demo from xanth.cs.odu.edu. I then used DNet to get it down to my Amiga. ZOO reported that the archive was corrupt. Strange, I had done this a hundred times before. Then I realized that DNet attempts to translate the protection bits. For some reason, if the "R" bit isn't set, ZOO reports "corrupt file" instead of "I can't access file". I hope this information will save someone else trouble in the future. It wasn't anything that "PRO * DREW" (under the 1.3 shell) wouldn't solve. -Tom -- Tom Limoncelli The computer industry should spend more time in front of tlimonce@drew.uucp their computers.
