For some strange reason I got a 'Error validating disk' requester today when I booted (I know what it means and so on, but I wasn't to blame this time ;). Anyway, I was already planning to spend my evening backuping, formating and restoring my 40 meg Quantum when I stumbled across this neat little utility called FixDisk by Werner Guenther (author of Xoper). Included was a validate option, and that solved the problem. I had to use the DOOM option because Mr. Guenther hasn't got a harddrive to test his program. Still, the current limit is 48 Meg partitions/filesys- tems, so maybe we should collect some funds for Mr. Guenther's harddisk ;) Thanks to all you guys who make these great programs, there are so many of you ... I wasn't the guy who told you about this program if it ruins your data ;) Look for it in ff223 ..
