---------------------------------- Our campus is currently in the *early* stages of implemeting what amounts to a 5 year plan on providing several "open-use" graphics labs. We have (frequently) discussed the possibilities of using Amiga's as one of our platforms, but a nagging problem persists: virtually nobody on this campus has seen an Amiga or know anything of its potential (save for myself). Our campus is scheduling a Computer Graphics Expo (Feb 9th, 1989) in an effort to expose our users to the "state of the art" in graphics. The experiences we obtain from the Expo will be used in making decisions on what graphics platforms we'll spend our (alotted) money on. To date we have committments from Silicon Graphics, WaveFront, Sun, Apple, IBM; with Apollo/HP, and a local vendor or two anticipated. I would dearly love to see the Amiga make a debut at the Expo, but I find myself at a total loss on how to bring this about! To date I have phoned and FAX'd John Harrison (CBM's Mgr of Higher Education) with no response (so far). I've tried to locate a regional sales rep, but no luck. Does anyone out there (CBM are you there?) know who I can contact about this kind of support? To date, I know of no campus in the statewide CSU system that *officially* supports the Amiga. CBM, here's a chance to set a precedent. --- Eric Keisler, Systems and Graphics Specialist, Computer Services California State University Fresno, Fresno CA 93740 erick@csufres.CSUFresno.EDU VOICE: (209) 294-3923 FAX: (209) 294-4660
