[comp.sys.amiga] RAM for TRUMPCARD

871579l@aucs.uucp (Todd Lowe) (01/15/90)

I am looking for expansion ram for my Trumpcard 500. The adds say expandable
internally to 4 Megs. What they don't say is its a proprietary connector
and few people seem to sell the proper board.

I'm looking for 2 Megs on a board expandable to 4 or 8.

If anyone knows where I might get one please let me know.

Thanx

IVS (the makers of the Trumpcard) are the only ones who sell the
expansion boards. The boards come in 512kb, 1Mb, 2Mb, or 4Mb sizes.
IVS uses SIMMs on the boards (due to limited real-estate available
in the expansion box for the A500). They DO NOT sell these boards
UNPOPULATED!!! (That's pretty stupid if you ask me). Also, the RAM
boards are really pricey! I have studied the expansion port and you
should be able to make a small adapter that will convert the DIN to
edge-card. They seem to pass all the bus lines so it should work with
'standard' expansion devices. You might even be able to convert the DIN
to an A2000 card socket format and use a card for the A2000 in it (I
have not looked at it that closely, yet).
