[comp.sys.amiga] HardFrame/2000-problems

ko75273@tut.fi (Oinonen Kari) (01/15/90)

I bought a HardFrame/2000-controller from West-Germany and it seems
that I got a faulty RDPrep-program with the installation-disk (I get
a guru when I run this program and I'm pretty sure that this comes
from the program - not my system-setup which is B2000, 1MB chip RAM). I
would appreciate if somebody who owns HardFrame-controller could Email
this program.

Thanks in advance,

Me too. So, I called microbotics and their excuse was that there is a bug in
the controller in my SCSI disk which they were working around. They then
said that the disk was in the mail. That was 4 weeks and 3 calls with the
same response (It's in the mail or I'm putting it in the mail today). I
know the mail is sometimes slow but come on!
Anyway the list of disks with this problem according to microbotics is:
ST296N, ST1096N, ST157N, ST277, and a Rodime I don't remember the number
on. He said that there had been a recent change or something to that
effect which caused this problem.
I'm still waiting. So if somebody out there has figured this out let
me know I'd really like to use my new hard drive.

I finally received the new RDPrep. So, now the only complaint I have with
MicroBotics is that the guy on the phone should have just told me the truth.
Something to the effect that they were working on the problem and they would
send out the disk as soon as possible not it's in the mail.

Enough flames. The new RDPrep worked great finally I have a hard disk
thanks for the fix MicroBotics. They've also upgraded the RDPrep software
and it's a lot easier to use and the intuition interface is really good.
The only complaint I had was that the help text should have included the
text from the HardFrame users guide but that's a minor complaint. Also
could I get help by pressing the help key? If not it should. All in all
it's easier to use good looking and up to MicroBotics usually high
standards.
