[net.general] Why is ink like the net?

chrys (04/27/83)

The following is a fortune that I obtained from 'fortune':

Ink: A villainous compound of tannogallate of iron, gum-arabic and
water, chiefly used to facilitate the infection of idiocy and
      promote intellectual crime.

I found this to be delightful and wanted to share it with all you
netlanders. I realized that this statement is true not only for
ink but, in these high tech days, also for video displays (like
your terminal). And the net, although not of the same composition
as ink, facilitates and promotes the same things.
