[comp.sys.amiga] Bug in Digiview 4.0

sparks@corpane.UUCP (John Sparks) (01/20/90)

I have found what seems to be a bug in Newtek's new Digiview 4.0 software.

On the camera settings screen, there is a gadget that lets you move the
picture to be scanned around (not sure what you would call this ). The
large black rectangle with the movable white square in it.

Anyway if you move this white square all the way to the edge, it will
screw up your scan and everything will turn out looking washed out.

This caused me no end of confusion. I would digitize a picture, and have
all the settings set up to produce a perfect picture. Then I would start
to digitize another one. I would notice that, say, the head would be chopped
off at the eyebrows. So I would go to the camera screen and move the picture
down a bit to get the whole head. Then when I digitized the contrast would
be so weak that it looked all washed out. I finally figured out that the
camera gadget was causing it.

Would someone else out there with 4.0, try this and tell me I am not imagining
this?
