In response to a more than a trickle of mail messages about "Klingon Attack", heres the story: "Klingon Attack" is my first attempt at an ANIM. I have no rendering/modeling package, so I am doing it entirely by hand, using Digipaint 1.0 and Photon Paint 2.0, and using DISKANIM to 'staple' the individual IFFs together. It is is currently a 495K HAM ANIM that will probably get a lot bigger. (I figured if I had to do it by hand, then I wanted it to be as colorful as possible...besides, the dithering and rub-through of Digipaint lend themselves excellently to things like explosions, vapor clouds, photon torpedoes, phasers, etc.) The principle frames are all done...I need to clean up a few frames and do some editing before it will be "truly" finished. "LOCKON" is another, similar effort, but much further behind in production, with an aircraft dogfighting type theme....look for it sometime this spring. Why am I doing it like this???---Well, as I mentioned before, I don't have a solids rendering program, nor the $$$ to run out and get SA4Djr or Turbo Silver. I have the source to DBW, but every attempt I've made to get PDC or ZC to compile it has met with less than success. I wanted to do an ANIM and I wanted to do it now, hence I made/am making them with the tools that I have at hand. If anybody would care to send me a disk with the DBW binaries on it, write me and we'll talk.... When I get Klingon Attack and LockOn finished, I'll send them to Fred/Tad for disk and net.distribution . ----Steve ---------------- Stephen Okay OKAY@TAFS.MITRE.ORG "I wept because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet, so I said 'Hey man, got any shoes you're not wearing???'"
