I plan to take an Amiga 2000 purchased in US to the land of PAL where the line voltage is 240V/50Hz. I got the following questions. 1. Can I use the A2000 with a cheap step down transformer? 2. Is the A2000 power supply specific to the 120V/60hz? If this is the case, how do I connect it to a 240V/50Hz? 3. Can I use a monitor with 120V/60Hz specification with a 50Hz power supply? 4. Is it possible to switch the Amiga video from NTSC to PAL? I would appreciate hearing from persons with experince. Thanks in advance for any helpful info. Tomi

At least judjing by my power supply, there is a jumper inside the power supply that selects between 120 and 240v. (it's actually a wire you attatch to the appropriate jumper) >4. Is it possible to switch the Amiga video from NTSC to PAL? If you get the new agnus it can be used for both NTSC or PAL, depending on a motherboard jumper. -- +---------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Ralph Doncaster Don't Steal - The Government hates competition. | |880274d@AcadiaU.CA 329 CHI, Acadia University, Wolfville, NS B0P 1X0 | |UUCP: {uunet|watmath|utai}!cs.dal.ca!aucs!880274d BITNET: 880274d@Acadia |

I took my old A1000 to Europe(Belgium) and had zero problems with monitor and power supply. The only thing you need is a stepdown transformer. Hell, even the clock worked right. The FAT AGNUS models of the 2000 (1 Meg Chip) can run PAL or NTSC. I bought a European 2000 and find that PAL is so much better that I will not go back to ntsc. -- Jim Sanchez {sun, hplabs}!sytek!syteke!jim OR Hughes LAN Systems, Brussels uunet!prlb2!sunbim!syteke!jim
