I recently bought Batman: The Movie( Not the trashy first game) and Gauntlet and would like to offer my views on their worth for you fellow netters. Batman: The Movie is perhaps the best arcade-action game I have played for the Amiga. Warning!! this is not for the weak of reflex. The game is by far the hardest I have played on the Amiga. Personally I like the fact that I can't finsh the game in ten second. The graphics are clean and outstanding. Concept wise the game keeps things interesting by stressing five different scenerios compressing the genres of climbing, racing, flying-racing, puzzle-solving and climbing. The game does so by challenging you to control Batman, The Batmobile, The Batwing, The Batcave Computer and Batman again. The game follows the sequence of the movie. Personally I am not a lover of Batman or the movie but this game has made a believer out of me. Overall and excellent job and an unexpected surprise! Gauntlet II -- When I bought this game I expected a multi-player game that would closely emulate the arcade game. I got all this yet I find the game lacking. The problem is the games lack of depth and strategy. The Graphics and sound are top rate and the action is almost exactly like the arcade. As a solo game this program is simply not worth the price. However if you are looking for a multi-player game with it all I think you may have found your program. Adding one-three(yes 3) more players gives this game the extra edge it needs to warrant you paying that $40 for it. The four-player option however requires an adapter that plugs into your serial port. It costs a measly $17.95 however. Don't bitch I mean after and 030 board what is $20. In summary if you want the arcade game in almost its pure form and want an party game this is it. Otherwise I would seriously consider Batman.
