[comp.sys.amiga] Digital Audio on 32 bit busses

Jeff Bevis asks:

To use the Amiga for handling real audio that could be exchanged with
other professional digital audio systems, it should at least support
the data rate of a compact disc: stereo at 44,100 16 bit samples /
second (176.4 kbytes / second). A 32 bit bus is not actually required
for this (despite my earlier posting, the one that Mr. Kennedy
corrected), but might be more efficient for stereo. Furthermore,
although 16 bits is generally enough for recording, when levels are
optimized, 20 bits or more would be better if multiple DSP cards were
passing intermediate results to each other.
