[comp.sys.amiga] Caligari in AmigaWorld Anim Special

I have a question concerning Caligari. I have read some articles
about it here on the net and in magazines which said that it only
worked with simple polygons and that its rendering was sub-par compared
to some of the other Amiga 3D programs, but that the user interface
was something to behold. Well, has anyone seen the advertisement in the
Amiga World Special Animation Issue, Page 63????? Is this SUBPAR???
NO WAY! If this is what Caligari is capable of, I want a copy yesterday!
And they talk about adjusting lighting conditions and re-rendering in
******SECONDS!!!******. Does anyone know how these objects were created?
Many of them appear to be spun, or extruded, or texture-mapped with some
really NICE textures. AND SHADOWS, TOO. Can anyone enlighten me on this?
Is this false advertising? Can the "consumer" version (<$200) do this
stuff, or is it only the commercial (~$2000) that can do this?

Inquiring minds want to know.
