I got home, switched on my beloved computer to get a little requester appear
halfway through my startup-sequence informing me that there had been a
"software failure". "Gee", I wondered, "I haven't seen one of these for a
while." So I reboot and get the same thing.
The beeds of sweat start to form over my brows. I remembered that I
had decided about 2 weeks ago to stop running VirusX4.0. Bad move. After
a few cut-the-startup-sequence-short-and-try-to-gain-control, the stupid
requester kept reappearing anyhow after a certain (short) time.
Then I saw it. I think the guys that write these things should be
hung by their testicals. Better yet, give them a c64 or an ST to play with.
It said something like: " ... and the cure is..." on a full-black
screen. It's one of those that attach themselves to executables. Now I
have to get my hands on KV from an ftp site. It's a good thing that it happenedat my home and not in the lab at school ( we have 13 Amigas, various flavors).
Moral: Get Steve Tibbet's VirusX4.0. Have it running all the time.
Have a merry Xmas everyone...
Stefy LePew.
PS: Any info on this virus would be appreciated. I'd especially like the
author's name!!!
