This made absolutely no sense to me. Isn't the 512K on a >stock 500 all chip RAM with the Fatter Agnus? Why would programs that run in that chip RAM run less well with a meg of it? Well here's the scoop on some of those programs. A friend of mine has an Amiga 2000 with 1 meg Agnus (and 1 meg ram). I have a 512K amiga 1000 Dungeon Master- won't work on my machine but works fine on his. It needs 1 meg of memory. Doesn't mind the 1 meg agnus. Dpaint III - works fine on both machines. Animation won't work on either. I suspect that is because 1> I don't have enough memory and 2> It must be looking for Fast Ram and thinks my friends computer doesn't have enough memory either (since it is 1 meg of chip ram). I hear there is a fix for this? So the problems with the new Agnus will be caused by those programs that assume that chip RAM is 512K and think that the computer does not contain enough memory even tho it has 1 MEG of chip available (It is specifically looking for Fast RAM and finding none) -- John Sparks | D.I.S.K. 24hrs 1200bps.
