I cannot get my Amiga 1000 to talk to my Apple Imagewriter II. I
bought a specific A1000-->ImagewriterII cable from Redmond cable; but either
it doesn't work, or I've done something stupid.
Can somebody with the same configuration tell me if I've done
anything wrong?
I am using a vanilla 1.3 Workbench Disk with the ImagewriterII
printer driver installed.
THE IMAGEWRITER DIP SWITCHES:
They're set up exactly as described for the Imagewriter II in the
1.3 Enchancer manual. I played with DIP 2 switch 3 (XON/XOFF) in
both positions, just for fun. No luck.
SERIAL PREFERENCES:
Baud 9600 Buffer Size 512
Read bits 8 Write bits 8
Stop bits 1 Parity none
Handshaking:
(I tried all 3. In fact, I tried XON/XOFF with and
without the Imagewriter's XON/XOFF DIP switch set.)
PRINTER PREFERENCES:
Serial printer, driver==ImagewriterII
Narrow tractor, fanfold, draft, 12-Elite, 6 LPI, 66 lines, Left==1,
Right==80.
GRAPHICS 1
Horizontal, Black&White, Positive, Threshold==8.
GRAPHICS 2
[Defaults -- didn't change a thing.]
WHAT I TRIED:
1> copy myFile.txt PRT:
1> printfiles myFile.txt
1> type > PRT: myFile.txt
1> Printing with FLOW and DPAINT III.
WHAT HAPPENED:
No response from the printer at all.
The printer passes its own self-test.
