There is also a very good shareware
called "Plans" (found on a CUCUG disk 022 or 
023, I don't remember). 
It is a very powerfull 2D CAD program.
I tried it with an HP plotter, and the
result was Ok.

Hard to learn, but really very
powerfull. Try it !

Plans by now should be a commercial program, available from its
author.  I have played with a near-release version, and it is
improved significantly from the original shareware version.
However, we're still not talkin' PCB design here by any means.
