[net.music] Death of The Who????

I just heard a few moments ago (10:30 EST) on MTV that Pete Townshend has
officially separated from The Who. Martha Quinn was the VJ, and she said
that The Who are not likely to go on without Pete Townshend.

Does anyone have any information on this? The Who are by far my favorite
group, and if this is true it would almost be a personal tradgedy for me.

I would appreciate it if anyone could find any additional information on
this...

                                Thanks,
                                Dennis

Well, well, well, the Who finally broke up. That's nothing new to
me, Pete Townshend said back in 1983 in a Melody Maker taht it was
only a matter of time before they split. Probably because he got
tired of touring. They went completely limp with 'It's Hard', so
the loss to the rock world is bad, but not as bad when Keith
Moon died. He made the Who, if you ask me. He was the best member
of the group, no doubt about it.

First Paul Weller, and now Pete Townshend, how much more
can we take of this??
