After I unshared, uudecoded and unzooed AmigaOmega, I re-packed it for uploading to a local BBS. Just to illustrate how much time could be spared if all files were as good packed as possible some numbers: The main file had 599164 bytes. After crunching it with a packer it got down to 286480 bytes. Lharcing all files including the packed got me a file of 315650 bytes - the original zoo file was 409801 bytes long. I think it would be much better if at least all files would be packed with LHarc and not with Zoo. On the biggest Amiga BBS here in Switzerland, ALL files have to be packed with lharc....saves a lot of space and time. -- ------------------------------------ Chris Brand - wizard@sosaria.imp.com "Justice is the possession and doing of what one is entitled to" - Platon ------------------------------------

This seems to come up everytime something of wide interest appears in comp.binaries.amiga. The biggest problem with LHarc is that simply it is not widely available for UNIX machines, which is there the postings originate. ...tad
