COMMODORE TARGETS AMIGA
BUNDLE TO BUSINESS MARKET
WEST CHESTER, Pa.-February 5th, 1990- Commodore Business Machines, Inc. Vice
President of Marketing Lloyd Mahaffey today unveiled aggressive plans for
further penetration into te U.S. business market by announcing a unique
limited-time Amiga system offer featuring the Commodore Amiga 2000HD (R)
equipped with a pre-installed MS-DOS (R) based "Bridgeboard, " 1084 monitor and
Amiga WordPerfect (R) version 4.1.
Mahaffey said the system offer, which runs now through March 31, 1990, was
developed for business professionals who require a cost-effective,
multi-purpose, multi-tasking personal computer to accomplish a variety of tasks,
from word processing to graphics production and spreadsheets. Additionally, the
system is ideal for the work-at-home user who needs to run MS-DOS software from
the office but also is interested in having a home education and productivity
machine all-in-one, he said.
"What we have developed is a multi-DOS solution package that enables users to
utilize the Amiga for its unique graphics and video capabilities in addition to
using it periodically to run specialized MS-DOS applications."
Additional plans targeted to the corporate market call for a continued emphasis
on the multimedia computing market, according to Mahaffey. Commodore pioneered
multimedia computing with the introduction of the Amiga in September 1985.
Simultaneously, Commodore is announcing a special, limited-time music
software/MIDI interface offer* for purchasers of A2000HD machines as well as two
Amiga-based videographics bundles for videographers, Mahaffey said. The programs
run from now until May 31, 1990.
Commodore Business Machines, Inc., based in West Chester, Pa., manufactures and
