I recently replaced my old Rev 3.9 motherboard in an A2000 with a new Rev 6.2b motherboard in order to use my A2620 and GVP 100Mb hard card (the old motherboard just wouldn't work properly even after making modifications suggested by Dave Haynie - he also said the Rev. 3.9 was a Beta Rev. and should never have been sold, although I've never had any problems with it until now). Having done this, I am still experiencing many problems which I list below. Do these problems sound related in some way, such as bad boot roms or flakey memory? 1. Battery back-up clock sometimes works, sometimes does not - when not working it gives the message "WARNING - clock is at old address." 2. The motherboard is set up to normally boot from the A2620, but I should be able to bring up the menu with the 2 mouse buttons which allows selection of the 68000 to boot from - I cannot do this. 3. The GVP only works in the slot closest to the A2620. If I put it in any of the other Amiga slots, the system fails to recognize it as a DOS disk. This concerns me because the disk gets pretty warm and consequently heats up the memory chips on the A2620 since they are so close to each other. 4. The A2052 2Mb RAM board does not work in any of the Amiga slots left of the GVP - when inserted, it causes the system to fail to recognize the GVP as a DOS disk. 5. The XT Bridgeboard will only work in the bridge slot on the Amiga side and not in the one on the PC side. I have even been able to get it to boot from another hard card that I have on the PC side, but it is not reliable - sometimes the DJMOUNT command comes back with "Janus Libraries failed to load", and consequently the bridgeboard and PC hard card are inaccessible. 6. The worst problem - I can consistently crash the machine just by running DeluxePaint III. I always get to the screen format display, but often after that the pointer will freeze and the screen will turn blue and remain frozen. If I am lucky enough to get into DPaint, it will crash the same way when I attempt to load in an IFF file. I can do this every time immediately after booting, even if I boot from a vanilla-flavor DPaint floppy and run the program from the floppy. Sometimes I'll get a Guru 004. HELP !!! !
