My one regret in deciding to upgrade to a 2000 from my 2 1/2 year old 500 is the sacrifice of the high quality keyboard on my 500. Somewhere between then and now, Commadore started useing soft, mushy contacts in their keyboards. What I would like to do is exchange the keyboard in my 500 with the one in my 2000 (when it gets here). I seem to recall that there are differences between the two keyboards but I can't be sure. I've removed the keyboard from my 500 before, to replace my ROM chip. If the procedure just involved cutting and soldering a few wires, I'd be comfortable with that. If anyone has tried this or knows of some reason why it will not work, I'd like to hear from you.
