[comp.sys.amiga] Teac drives on Amiga

JAM160@psuvm.psu.edu (James MacKenzie) (02/13/90)

I am posting this message here after a no-one replied to my message on
comp.sys.amiga.hardware...and considering not every place subscribes to
c.s.a.h...I decided to post it here.

I don't need any flames about this, I need help.

I have a TEAC FD-235F drive connected to my Amiga...I put it in place of an
unknown companies drive after my Phoenix 3.5" drive went on the blink.

I am having trouble setting some of the jumpers, apparently. I have it
working all right...MOST OF THE TIME...however, some copy programs don't seem
to like it...(i.e. NIB) and A-Max DEFINATELY doesn't like it...I just stick
a disk in and it spins forever...

Following is what I have done with the jumpers.

               . . MS
               . . IR
               . . RY
.-. DC The ones with - are jumped...
. . D1 FG has a small capacitor(?) across it.
               .-. D0
               .+. FG

Can anyone help me get this thing working completely correctly?

Also, can anyone tell me how to get the drive light to stay on steady, instead
of flashing whenever disk access is being done?

                          Thanks mucho in advance.
