There is a lot of discussion going on here
about how much R...Jedi is taking in these days.
With all this talk of "First 6-day Gross" etc,
I'd be curious to hear what prices are being paid
by "all you out in netland".
Here in Portland (OR), the movie is being shown
by 3 theatres of the "Luxury Theater" chain. They
have NOT added round-the-clock showings, but they
have upped their price and eliminated "early bird"
and "low-priced matinee" discounts. Next to their
ads in the local papers, they printed the following
disclaimer (paraphrased):
In order to have R..Jedi open in Portland
at the same time it opens across the US,
the distributors of R..Jedi have mandated a
premium price and no discount showings.
This policy will be in force for the first
five weeks that R..Jedi is shown. We then
intend to return to our normal prices and
discount policies.
