[comp.sys.amiga] Connor CP340 SCSI drive

a72@mindlink.UUCP (Raman Anand) (02/12/90)

Lately, there has been alot of usenet messages regarding the Connor CP340
40MB 3.5" SCSI harddrive. I would like to know where I can get this drive
cheaply? Also, what people think of it's performance under AmigaDOS?

I am thinking of making a hardcard (SupraWORDSYNC) out of this drive and use my
SyQuest44 as a secondary/backup drive. Any problems using this
combination? What sort of SCSI cable is needed to attach 2 harddrives to
SupraWORDSYNC or any other SCSI controller for that matter?

Please post a public message if you're going to reply to this message.
Thanks!

Supra's WORDSYNC controller can use either the Mac's DB-25 connector
for an external drive but I forgot which sex... [just a sec' while
I check it's genes :-] Ah, it's a female DB-25 connector attached to
the metal card guide. This connector attaches to a 26-pin
dual-inline header on the controller board. Also on the controller
board is a `standard' 50-pin dual-inline header if your SCSI disk
uses the 50-pin connectors (like the Quantum Q40).

I've had the WORDSYNC running on my A1000 Zorro ONE expansion box for
several months now with *NO* problems whatsoever. Maybe I've been lucky? :-)
