A lot of circuit boards have metal plates covering the bottom. If you ever take an Amiga 2000 apart you will find a metal board on the bottom of the motherboard. If you take this board off you will find a piece of insulating plastic between the metal plate and the circuit board. I would suspect that you could desolder the metal plate off the bottom of your 1084 circuit board and find the same thing. It is just for shielding and the solder gives it a good connection to common ground. Take this shield off and you will find the same as what is pictured in the Amiga Transactor.
