I was having a problem with the letter 'S' in Snap.. it was snapping/pasting as
a '3'. After a reboot, the letter 'g' was snapping/pasting as a '3'. Now I just
noticed that the single quote is snapping as a '3'. Seems to be quite erratic.

It's very nice to hear that you people are using Snap, but do you
have to tell the whole world about the bugs? :-)

It seems like the InvertKeymap() code has some problems with some
keymaps. I'll take a look at it. A new release will be made when
these problems are sorted out. The new release will also include
a text-only version with a smaller executable for floppy users.

Bug reports and suggestions are welcome, as always.

Hi folks,
happy about the new version of Snap in my hands I installed it on my Amiga.
But while playing a little around to test the new features (great ones) I found
the first bug. My snap doesn't snap the character 'f'. It just swallows it. If
I want to snap 'difficult' I get 'diicult' for example. I have an 2000A, 3MB,
Priam v185 HD, KS1.3 and after startup there is Xoper2.2,VirusX4.0, Jazzbench,
Popupmenu (which isn't working very stable since the new version 1.42. What about a new version?)
I use the normal font (Topaz 8), but it seems to happen with every font I tested yet.
Does anybody have any solutions?

Is there a new version of Jazzbench available? (I have V0.8)

So long

In line with SNAP not recognisising the 'f', I just a an even more
painful trouble: don't try to redefine a key to a string key. Snap
will GURU (3, I believe address trap).

Why do this ? I have a German keyboard. The '2'/'@' key is a '2'/'"'
key on the German keyboard. The '@' can be reached with ALT. But not
CTRL '@', i.e. NUL. I wanted this for MG, to be in line with the
keyboard labels. I doubt I would have ever used it, but anyway.

So I made the key a string key. Seems you should better confine this
to function keys ...

I don't think that this is a major bug, but it took me some time
and heavy swearing to find out ;-)

Long inhale. No.
And there isn't going to be unless I get my harddrive controller back sometime
within the next millenia or two... :(
...and then I have to worry about the exlectrical problem that started this
6-month long tirade of broken computer parts.

Sorry -- I have some wonderful ideas sitting on the wall right in front of me.
I'm just waiting for the right moment to implement them. If I had had a working
machine, it would have been completed by now. Apologies to all.

A problem that confounded me was that I need to hold down Left-Alt in
addition to the named qualifier key. E.g. in order to snap text I have
to hold down both Left-Alt and Left-Amiga. Holding down Left-Alt and
Right-Amiga with one hand to snap graphics is a bit awkward so I
redefine the graphics qualifier to Left-Shift. Other than that is seems
to work OK. (Not that I've used it much.)

Oh yeah, if I redefine the text qualifier to Left-Alt I can't snap text
any more.

It must be some weird combination of some of the other stuff you have
installed, I just snapped out that very word above and it worked like
a charm. I am running a 1 meg A500, snap, ARP1.3, clockdj.

So I take it that I shouldn't expect JazzBench to work on my 2500/30
system. It worked great on my 1000. But now, all I get is:
"I'm sorry Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that." I can't get anything.
Disk icons won't open. And I can't even kill the program. I have to
reboot. Any clues?

No, and it's frustrating. I've gotten many notices that 2500/30 with rev6.2 doesn't work.
Why it's only 6.2, I don't know -- maybe it's not, hey, who knows. Anyway I would suspect
that a bug that went unnoticed in the 68000 environment is biting me in the 68030. The
code is all straight 'C' code, so I hardly imagine I'd have the usual problems. However,
I ran into a notice that one is not supposed to do signed arithmetic on pointers -- I
might have done something like that... Also, a file that shouldn't be, gets left open and
this might cause problems too... As the program that opened it is dead :)

If you figure it out -- LET ME KNOW!!
