[comp.sys.amiga] Commodore adds : "Vette"

david_r_watters@penguin.cis.ohio-state.edu (02/20/90)

I remember reading CBM's fancy new adds in Time Magazine. The must have cost
a fortune, and probubly got some attention. One section of the huge add talked
about a brilliant young programer and his new revolutionary game, Vette.
The add talked about how the programer needed a very sophisticated computer to
produce this advanced driving simulation. Well, a few months later...

Vette hits the shelves, ON THE IBM!!!!

Now if I am a future computer owner, and I sorta remember these high priced
adds talking about a powerful computer which a knowlegable programmer chose
to feature his simulation, 'Vette' on....well......

Nice going CBM & Spectrum Holobyte, way to spend a few mills advertising
for big blue.

conclusion : "Where in the hell is Vette, and if it was developed on an amiga
why is it not on the Shelves!!!!!"
"Next we will learn that BB King writes music on his guitar and
not Deluxe Music construction, of course I never bought that one
              anyways!"

Actually, VETTE! is out for the Amiga. I saw it at my local Electronics
Boutique store. You might want to try mail ordering them because it might
take some time for a relatively new game to make it to a local store
shelf.

                                               Sun...
P.S. I saw it back in November!!(If I remember corrctly)

You are looking on the wrong shelves :-)

No, those adverts were all very well executed. All the people's
stories are real. BB King does use an Amiga. (Yes, I know
you were just joking, but I thought it was worth mentioning.)

Tom Limoncelli The computer industry should spend more time in front of
tlimonce@drew.uucp their computers. Remember when "Look & Feel"
tlimonce@drew.Bitnet was what you tried to do on a date?

Well, I hear EA is dropping support for DMCS. They haven't touched it in
years (despite the fact noone wrote a player for it!) So It seems the Ad
agency didn't do the homework it should've (considering what C= probably paid
for the ads) -jim-
