[comp.sys.amiga] Turbo-silver crashing on 2500/30

STU00@vx.acs.umn.edu (Stuart Stanley) (03/02/90)

Hello all,

I have just run into a rather large problem trying to use turbo siver on
a 2500/30 system. Heres the scoop:

If I start turbo from workbench after booting using my startup-sequence,
I get a "software error, task help" requester, followed by a 2.xxxxx guru.
(Bus error?!?!)

If I start turbo.fp from workbench after booting using my startup-seq,
I get the guru directly. (No requester) Again, its a 2.

If I start turbo or turbo.fp by stopping the boot, setpatching (or not -
I have tried that too) and starting from workbench, I get a guru of 3.

If I run turbu or turbo.fp from CLI after booting from my startup-seq,
I get a guru of 3 or 4 (I can't remember)

If I stop the boot and start turbo or tubro.fp from CLI, it starts
up, but everytime I try to view, make, edit, etc a cell it tells me
"Can't save Cell" via requester. It then lets me edit, etc, but when I
return I get a "Can't open Cell" requester and the data is lost.

*note, the last situation occurs in both 68000 and 68030 mode*

Ok, whats happening here? I have even pulled the machine apart and
reconfigured it back to the NotSoFat Agnus mode and it still happens!

The program works fine on my friends 3megA2000. (She is away on vacation
and I am trying out turbo to see if I want to buy it - I like it on
her 2000, but if it won't run on the A2500/30 it kind-of makes the
thing a poor deal for the money!)
