[comp.sys.amiga] Fish disks 300-310 up on MRCNEXT

schwager@m.cs.uiuc.edu (03/03/90)

WHEW! FF300-310 disks are finally on mrcnext.cso.uiuc.edu
(128.174.73.105)!!!
There was a mixup, the disks were sent to the wrong address, and- well, you
know the rest of the story! As for disks 311 and on, I don't know yet.
Hopefully Lionel will get the situation straightened out soonly.

More news on the Archive itself: UIHUB is gone. It was procured rather
quickly, so sorry for no advance notice. It was the laughingstock of the
Department, anyways, so no great loss. All the disks that were on UiHub
should be on mrcnext or uxe.cso.uiuc.edu (128.174.5.54).

In the future: (and this is where it gets good!) The Computing Services
Office (who runs mrcnext and uxe) has bought a couple 1 Gig disks, and
we're going to get about 250 Meg worth of space. So far, we're using about
150 Meg, and they figure the extra 100 Meg should last a year or so, the
way Fred has been pumping out those Fish disks. Basically, those fine
folks over there are committed to providing us with disk space for quite a
while yet. That should be the least of our worries for at least a year.

That's all I have for now. The problems we've been having lately with
getting the disks up are temporary, I'm sure, so please be patient just a
little longer. Thanks.
