[comp.sys.amiga] Maurader II Brain file

antunes@ASTRO.PSU.EDU (Alex Antunes) (03/04/90)

Hello! I have Marauder II (yes, I know i misspelt it in myy header)
but I do not have the Brain files for it. So, since I have it on a
disk of lots of PD copiers (a System Z production)....
1) it is PD, right?
2) anyone know where or can send me the brain file?
3) anyone have any docs on it? surprisingly, the disk doesn't have any
of the usual "if you like this program support it" files, even.
    thanks!
                                       sandy

Marauder II is not PD -- it is a commercial program. You have
a pirated copy.

Unfortunately, you've been caught by something known as "the Compilation
Disk". Many pirate groups put out compilations of these disks
periodically with the latest versions of the (commercial in the most
part) copiers and other things (utilities, games, etc). In this case,
System Z copier disk is indeed filled with copyrighted copiers, etc.,
since System Z is a pirate group (though they've never really "cracked"
anything that I'm aware of). Discover Software, who published Marauder
II, is now defunct, so I am not sure how this would affect its status as
being commercial or PD, depending on who held the copyright. I think if
I were you, I'd just buy RawCopy or Project D, since these are supported
regularly now with updates.
