[comp.sys.amiga] Unix and Amiga-OS

hcobb@walt.cc.utexas.edu (Henry J. Cobb) (03/05/90)

Posting this as root mearly reveals the extra effort that goes into
the maintenance of a Unixy OS.

I hope that two paths will remain:

Unix for paranoids and MBA types.

And Amiga-OS, making efficent use of real memory for real proformance,
for the 'Best of us'.

I have no complaint about CBM selling Unix boxes and clones to remain
afloat, as long as they continue to support the Amiga. (Which is not now, nor
has it ever been just hardware.)

Let us not forget that a good portion of unix administrators ENJOY tinkering and
tuning unix boxes, in much the same way some people like tinkering with car
engines. BTW, why do you choose paranoid and MBA types to descibe unix supporters?
